VibeSquad Tunes

I stumbled on VibesquaD's drippy-grindy crunk bass on the Beach at Shambhala Music Festival 2008. Mind blowing. This guy loves music. I've never seen a DJ vibe so hard to his own tracks. VibesquaD plays Lord Nelson's Pub in Calgary, Tuesday, June 30. Come burn off some pre-Shambhala angst. VibesquaD sent us some mad wobblers. Bass love.

Goth Trad in Calgary

Geography and I picked up Takeaki, aka GOTH TRAD (call him GOTH) at the airport this morning. What a treat. We've chatted with the Japanese dubstep master about his 11 year production career, his tight relationship with Hyperdub head Kode9 and an infamous Japanese tour with the Mars Volta.

Trivia- Did you know GOTH did some of the vocals on the Kode9 remix of the Bug's Skeng? "You don't want to see me get evil..."

GOTH TRAD plays alongside DnB favorite Diesel Boy tonight, at Dickens Pub (06/24/2009). Catch him headlining "Dub Island" at the Soda Night Gallery this Friday (06/26/2009). Tix are $5 before 11pm! Check the Facebook event. Brought to you in part by therinseout.com.

GOTH gave us a hype mix. Turn it up!

Jubilee

New York City's Jubilee (Nightshifters) is touring Canada with Calgary/Victoria sweethearts, Bitchin'. The party lands in Calgary, at the Hi Fi Club, tonight! (06/20/09) Jubilee brings mad NY flavor: bassline, jungle, harcore, electro and delicious, crunchy NY dubstep. The Bitchin' girls will have have everyone jackin' by 10. Dress to sweat.

Get the CT Burners and Jubilee Kick It Ep, free! I love Nightshifters more and more.

Also, check Jubilee's latest mix, Where's the Afterparty? Summer bass jams, yo.

Skream is in the house...literally!

After laying waste to Calgary’s Warehouse Nightclub and our kitchen, Skream plays Richards in Vancouver, tomorrow. Lighta! Crew hosts the party. You know it’s going to be sick. Max Ulis’s (Lighta! Crew) rework of Hold the Line is the hottest remix I’ve heard this year. Big Ups!
