Robots Live In Forests

This painting was just donated to the us by our good buddy Taylor Kline, who is moving to Vancouver this week to attend Emily Carr.
Its going up in the studio.

Thanks mate!

Wachs Lyrical- Jelly Hammer

This is a real nice dubstep track from 19 year old UK producer Wachs Lyrical. I was impressed to learn that Liam Wachs produces everything from hip-hop to metal, dubstep to children's television scores. Definitely worth checking out.

Zomby - Little Miss Naughty (rip)

Zomby just posted this on his twitter...its a rip from a live set of his new tune, Little Miss Naughty...its a complete departure from all his 8 bit/wonky stuff as of late...definitely the most organic sound we've heard from the man.
Looking forward to more of this sound from him.

Mastodon meets Dubstep...

Troubemaker provides us with a seriously nice remix of Mastodon's Oblivion from their Crack the Skye album.
I usually hate it when Dubstep tries to sound like Metal...but this is a perfect combination.

We <3 ZDS

I'm on a bit of a house tip these last few posts...and according Zombie Disco Squad, "House is not a bad word".
As far as I'm concerned these guys can do know no wrong...from their original productions, & remixes, to their seriously nice blog, Gutter Broadcast, they have a refined taste that is prevalent in all that they do.
They are credited as being one of the founders of Zulu House - a new sub genre combining Tribal African elements with tradtional Deep/Funky House.
Here is one of their more tongue in cheek remixes that I've been liking as of late.

Killa Queenz - Bitches (Zombie Disco Squad Remix)

I highly recommend grabbing 1 if not all of their mixtapes HERE.

New Claude VonStroke

Claude VonStroke's follow up album to 2007's "Beware of the Bird" drops on October 19 via Dirtybird.
Its called Bird Brain, and features collaborations from Bootsy Collins, & label mate Justin Martin.
The folks over at Dirtybird were kind enough to post the full album for free preview...and I must say that its well worth the wait...I've been dieing for some new CVS material...and the Aundy Ep was a bit of a let down...Bird Brain will not disappoint Claude's old fans..and is sure to gain him some newbies.
Preview the full album @ the Dirtybird Site .

Zomby - Digital Fauna

Zomby is perhaps the most elusive character in the electronic music community. I've asked every UK dubstep producer I've met if they can shed some light on his mystery and received the same shrugged shoulders response. It doesn't really matter, it just perplexes me. It makes me like Zomby more.

One Foot in Front of the Other, released earlier this month on Ramp, exposed a highly cerebral, polyphonic dimension of Zomby's identity. Zomby delves deeper into polyphony with a two track release on Brain Math records, Digital Flora. This is definite headphone listening.

Please support Zomby and all of the art on this blog. Buy Zomby tracks on Boomkat.

L-Vis 1990 Mid Summer Mix

'What would a girl in an L-Vis 1990 video do?' It's the question that I have been asking myself when I look in my closet before heading out. The results are usually unappetizingly obnoxious, or just something that my mother would not be fully happy about, I have even been asked numerous times 'Yo, where your pants at girl?' but all the same, the point is, I'm crazy about L-Vis 1990.

With a banger release on Mad Decent, a solid night in London (NIGHT SLUGS EP drops September 2009 with crew mate Bok Bok), and an effortless ability to combine a healthy variety of influences into one track, it's no wonder why everyone is buzzing.

For summer groove time check this out:

AC Slater - August Mix

Okay, we are going to talk some AC Slater here, and we are going to get a little bit serious. Everything this guy touches turns to gold! From the jacking beats of his bassline remixes, to his party starting dubstep, even down to the gold/ brown hairs of his luxuriant Tom Selleck moustache. We just have nothing but good things to say about AC Slater and the Trouble and Bass crew.

He killed it at Shambhala, and this mix is a mere taste of the 'get down party' that this man invokes. August is coming to a close folks: Drop the summer, drop the Bass!
This is how AC Slater parties at Shambhala in British Columbia, Canada.

El Poirier

I feel I've witnessed the evolution of Poirier first hand. I've seen him play six or seven times in the last three years; multiple shows in Calgary, one in Edmonton and a unique gig in Paris with grime slinger, Mesh. Just when I thought I had the guy figured out, Poirier slaughters the Rock Pit at Shambhala last weekend, seamlessly mixing bassline, funky and fidget into his bass heavy repertoire.
Raise your gun finger in celebration... word in the forest is that Poirier has a new album dropping very soon on Ninja Tune. Keep it locked to TheRinseOut for details. In the meantime, enjoy Poirier's Snoop remix. Oldy, but a goody.

Octa Push - Kolokani

I'm feeling tropical on this beautiful day...and below is a track to match my mood.

Octa Push are from Lisboa, Portugal and have been making a name for themselves this summer playing both Sonar & Glade Festivals, in Barcelona & Glastonbury respectively.
This track is nice and 2 steppy with a glitchy middle eastern sounding vocal....real nice.

The Science of a Facebook Group

Wanna start by thanking everyone that came to the Filastine show last night...that was only the tip of the iceberg for what we have planned over the next little bit.

We also finally got around to starting a Facebook Group... join us HERE.

As an incentive for joining we're gonna give you what has to be one of the most banging tracks of 2009 thus far. Generally not a huge Herve fan...but he nailed this remix of The Temper Trap.
This track is guaranteed to crush any club/crowd...indietronic meets dubstep turn ghetto tech monster.
This track is so nice I had to play it twice..at Shambhala Music Festival that is.
