MRK 1 + DJG + Djunya = This Friday

The lineup this Friday at Modern Math just may be the largest we've had as we draw near to our 1 year anniversary.

Over the last month I've had the pleasure of playing shows with both DJG & Djunya in Vancouver & Basscoast Festivals respectively. They are each very excited to be joining us at the Lord Nelson this week with the legend himself MRK 1!

dl - MRK 1 feat. Sizzla - I Got Too (((CLASSIC)))

This is the first time any of these artists have played Calgary...and with Shambhala right around the corner, expect this one to be a large one for all in attendance.

Our last massive sold out by 1230...so we recommend getting advance tickets...or arriving early to insure entry.
Tickets available at Giant 45 / Grassroots / The Gallery.

BassCoast Festival v.2

We are super excited to be heading to Squamish, BC next weekend to play the second annual Basscoast Project.
I heard nothing but the best reviews about this festival from my friends who attended and or played last summer...and with a lineup as stacked as it is this year, it can only get better.

Representing TheRinseOut crew is Lorne B & Piranha Piranha( Dan Solo & Mr Geography).
We've been hard up in the lab finishing tunes for both this festival and Shambhala which is fast approaching as well.

Learn more over at the BassCoast Site.

This is the location below!!!

Geo Soundbwoy to boot...

Been listening to this on repeat for the past couple days. Really nice production from a local pal! Nice and smooth. Deep Bass, and beautiful vocal work! Good on the shelf or pon de floor!

Skream-izm is Free-izm

Everyone has a great Skream story. We do too. The story goes like so.

"One of dubsteps greatest powerhouses just gave away a zip file filled with 5 great tracks."

Enjoy.

Biscope...South African Dubstep

This track is one that I heard a while ago by dubstep South African duo Biscope. The vocals by Canadian singer Zaki Ibrahim give it an ethereal feel. Layer that with a 2-step drumbeat and you got summers perfect 'love up' song.

Besides it's the South African world cup, and with everyone getting out their little "Vuvuzelas", I have decided to go the other route, and instead of getting low to the ground...just floating on clouds for a bit.

Bass Island

Tonight there is a party happening... Not the usual swagga fest in the beautiful city we live in .. but out in the woods! In the middle of a great mass of water, on and island full of bass. Definately one recipe for an excellent experience.. Hefty line-up of true selectas all night long.

Here's a map to help you get out there!

HRDVSION + BASKETBALL

Fresh off the release of his new and critically acclaimed debut album "Where did you just go?" on Wagon Repair, Nathan Jonson aka HRDVSION stops by Modern Math this Friday to lay down a thick set of original techno and dance floor destroyers.

Originally hailing Victoria, BC...now residing in Berlin...HRDVSION has quickly become a global techno sensation and further pushed Canada onto the international map of dance music in general.

Nathan is the younger brother of Wagon Repair label head Mathew Jonson of Cobblestone Jazz fame...expect the bins to be bumpin with exclusive/original heat when HRDVSION is on the set!

Also on the bill is Vancouver's, Basketball...
Basketball is an energetic four piece driven by live electronics, spirited vocals, and massive percussion that grows into pulsating dance beats. From Tome's vocals in his native tongues, Croatian and English, to the Persian scales, to the gypsy-esque spirit, Basketball exists amongst a history of music played on street corners and at celebrations around the world.

These guys have been killing it in Vancity over the last year...and considered by many to be the best band in Vancouver at the moment.

They are in Calgary for Sled Island this week...and will be throwing a special stripped down electronics only set featuring the productions by band member/Lighta! crew artist/ friend of TheRinseOut Phowa.
